Etsy

What a cool place to find interesting things. THANKS JEN!!!

I have found a replacement for those dryer sheets that we just throw away. AND I have found them on Etsy ("Your place to buy & sell all things handmade"). However, if you decide to stick with the old school dryer sheets make sure that before throwing them away you dust your house with them. The static power that is left in them picks up dust quite well. I am now "going green" like the rest of the world (or so they say) by investing in lavender sachets to replace the dryer sheets.

The cool thing about these nifty little handmade (if bought from Etsy.com) sachets is that they work in the dryer for about 10-15 loads. When you feel like they don't have the strength of scent you want you can open them up and sprinkle them on your carpet and vacuum up to make your floor smell nice too. You can either reuse them by refilling and sewing them back up or buy new ones from Etsy. OR you can put them in your drawers or closets to make them smell fresh. I also learned that lavender has insect repellent properties and it keeps moths away. So when done I also use them on the back porch that is supposed to be screened in yet we still get eaten alive just by sitting for a few moments.

The great thing about Etsy.com is that all products are handmade and sold by someone here in the states, so you are providing economic stimulus (unlike those stimulus checks depending on what you buy--more on that later). YOU can actually open up your own Etsy if you have a talent too!! So get creative and start bringing the bucks back home!!
